Spectra/Chrom® Flow Rate Controller

Flow Rate Controller
124800
The microprocessor controlled Spectra/Chrom® Flow Rate Controller controls the flow of low-pressure (gravity driven) fluid streams. It is especially effective in gravity driven low pressure liquid chromatographic applications. It is self calibrating and eliminates the damaging pulses that are generated with the use of a peristaltic pump.

Using hydrostatic pressure as the driving force, an electronically controlled pinch valve is used to regulate the flow rate. An internal flow cell holds a small reservior of fluid and a drop former. As drops are formed and fall into the fluid reservior they are inspected and sized by the microprocessor. Since the volume of each drop is determined by inspection, there is no tedious calibration required. Fluid viscosity, density, and color are automatically compensated for with this arrangement.

The internal reservoir eliminates the pulsation effects seen when using peristaltic pumps.

In addition to controlling the flow rate, the total run volume can be set. Unattended separations can be run without fear that your column will run dry.

The usable flow rate range is from 5 to 399 ml/hr. The total volume per run can be set from 1 to 9999 ml. The flow rate controller is powered by rechargeable batteries (both the batteries and charger are included). It may be operated from the power mains while the batteries are recharging.

Use part number 124800 for the 115V version and 124801 for the 230V version.
